本校の歴史

Oxnard Buddhist Temple Japanese Language School was established by Temple members in 1927. The school originally opened its doors to the children of Temple members to teach them their “heritage language” and culture.

After World War II, the school opened its doors to children of non-Buddhist members so that those children would be able to obtain a Japanese language education.

The Completion Ceremony was started in 1965, and the Graduation Ceremony was started in 1969. This school year (2020-2021), the school will have its 52nd Graduation and 56th Completion Ceremony.

The School Board is composed of the Principal/Administrator, Temple Liaison, and officers of the school: Parent/Teacher Association Advisor, Chairperson, Co-Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, Development Chairperson, and Communication Chairperson.

オクスナード仏教会日本語学園は、1927年に仏教会のメンバーたちによって創設され、当初は、その子供たちに伝統言語や文化を教えるため、その扉が開かれました。

第二次世界大戦後、当校は仏教会のメンバーたちの子供たちに限らず、より多くの子供たちが日本語教育を受けられるよう、その取り組みをはじめました。

その後、修了式が1965年に、そして卒業式が1969年に始められました。本年（2020-2021）は、当校での第52回目の卒業式、そして第56回目の修了式を迎えます。

本校の教育委員会は、校長/管理者、仏教会の連絡員、そして、PTAアドバイザー、会長、共同議長、会計官、書記官、開発担当官、通信担当官らの学校役員たちによって成り立っています。
